Programme structure

Our programme combines deep training in one discipline with integrated training across a breadth of disciplines. The course is designed around a 4-year full-time programme of study, starting in late September/early October each year, where students progress together as a cohort. Applicants are expected to be available for full-time study although a part-time option is available at the discretion of the CDT directors, depending on the needs of the student and the project.

Before the programme starts

Successful applicants are invited to come to Bath to meet their peer mentor, first year supervisor and the director of training. A tailored pre-arrival training programme is based around reading lists and online materials.

During the visit we co-create a first year study programme based on the student’s academic background, experience and expertise, and research interests.
