ART-AI Staff Win Education Awards 2021

The Department of Computer Science, and ART-AI did very well at this year's awards ceremony

We are very proud of our staff, and the recognition they’ve received from the Students’ Union at the University of Bath in the Education Awards 2021. Doctoral Training Coordinator Zoë Graham won Support Staff Member of the Year and Director of Training Marina De Vos was part of the team that won Best Team in Support of Student Learning alongside her Computer Science colleagues.

The anonymous nominating statements from many students re-iterated how approachable and helpful Zoë has been through an especially challenging year, and how invaluable she has been in helping students break through the isolation of the pandemic lockdown. In the words of one student, she “has made me feel welcome at Bath and ensured I feel part of the ART-AI CDT community.” Zoë thanked the organisers of the awards, adding: “Working with the brilliant staff and students in the ART-AI CDT is a joy, and I’m so pleased I’ve managed to make a difference through my work.”

Marina’s award was shared with her colleagues John Benardis, Zack Lyons, and Bhagyashree Patil, who collectively wrote, “Building on each other’s strengths, we worked as a close team to support our Computer Science community during these trying times.  While we are extremely pleased to have received this award this would not have been possible without the support and input from our students and colleagues in the department and faculty.”
