Researching empathetic, interpretable, and explainable AI as a means to support sonar operators in high-stakes decision making. Through creating a more empathetic and transparent AI, we hope to foster Human-AI trust and to build an effective Human-AI team in which both members complement each other in their strengths and support each other in their weaknesses.
