Two members of staff and five PhD students from the University of Bath recently visited Bangladesh as VIP guests of the Asian University for Women (AUW), a unique, private university dedicated solely to the education of Asian women. Amongst these were ART-AI students, Cat Gray (Cohort 1) and Thao Do (Cohort 2).
Cat writes:
“During our visit to Asian University for Women in Chittagong, we delivered an interactive workshop on research communication. This was followed by a symposium during which students presented short talks, posters, annotated bibliographies, and panel discussions.
We were so impressed by the quality of these outputs and the level of dedication and leadership students showed. We built what I am sure will be lasting relationships with many students. I’m very grateful to have been part of this project.”
Thao writes:
“I had the wonderful opportunity to interact with students and faculty members at the Asian University for Women and learn more about their studies, career aspirations, and more. All of the individuals I met were bright and inspiring. I conducted two sessions on annotated bibliographies and how to apply for master’s scholarships and careers in international development. These sessions were designed to enhance the students’ critical thinking skills and to inform them about available opportunities. Given their hard work, strong determination, and dedication, I believe that many doors will be open for them in the future. I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
