What our students have been working on during lockdown – Akshil

Akshil Patel blogs about how he has spent the last few months

Since the end of the semester, I have been fairly busy. The main focus so far has been on my Interdisciplinary Thesis Formulation Report in which I have been refining my research ideas and plan. As hard as it has been to write the report with creativity, I have been using this as a way to improve my writing skills. It has also been really helpful to get down a solid basis for my project. 

I have also taken advantage of the free membership to Coursera which the Doctoral College has sponsored due to Covid-19. I’ve always been into MOOCs and am currently doing one on Strategy and Innovation. 

Outside of work, I have been busy with moving house which has involved building a lot of flat-pack furniture. Lockdown has been tough as an extrovert but I’ve made an effort to fill my time with lots of yoga, kickboxing and catching up on all the books I planned to read.
