ART-AI and University of Bath AI group seminar
We are pleased to have Dr Nadin Kokciyan, a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence in the School of Informatics at University of Edinburgh, and a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London, join us for this joint ART-AI and University of Bath AI group seminar, entitled ‘An Agent-based Perspective for Preserving Privacy Online’.

Abstract
In the first part of the talk, Nadin will give an overview of AI-based approaches that can help users to preserve their privacy in online systems. The idea is to take a multi-agent approach where each agent represents a user and acts on behalf of the user to make decisions, while interacting with other agents. In the second part of the talk, Nadin will talk about recent work that introduces a multi-agent approach where Internet of Thing (IoT) entities decide to share information with others while managing trust for regulating privacy.
Bio
Dr Nadin Kokciyan is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence in the School of Informatics at University of Edinburgh, and a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London. Her primary focus is on developing AI techniques to support decision-making in multi-agent systems. She has worked on computational argumentation in the last five years to develop decision-support tools in the healthcare domain. In the privacy context, Nadin develops computational AI techniques to preserve privacy of the users in online systems. Nadin has served on the committees of leading AI venues such as AAMAS, AAAI, IJCAI and ECAI; and she is a guest editor for IEEE Internet Computing on the special issue on Sociotechnical Perspectives on AI Ethics and Accountability.
