ART-AI Seminar
We are pleased to have Mikkel Lykkegaard, who is the Data Science Lead at the Exeter-based tech start-up company digiLab, join us for this ART-AI seminar entitled ‘From Deterministic to Probabilistic: Confidence and Credibility in Data-Driven Models’. This seminar will take place at the University of Bath, 1W 2.03, on Tuesday 9th May 2023, 12.15pm-13.15pm (BST). Andrew Barnes, Lecturer in the Computer Science Department, will chair. See map of the campus for location of 1W. If you are unable to make this event in-person, there is an option to dial in via Microsoft Teams. For more information, please e-mail [email protected].
Title:
From Deterministic to Probabilistic: Confidence and Credibility in Data-Driven Models
Abstract:
As Machine Learning and Data-Driven models are becoming ubiquitous throughout all scientific disciplines, evaluating the robustness and confidence of such models becomes critical. In this talk, Mikkel will give a brief overview of both well-established and state-of-the-art methods for Uncertainty Quantification, with a particular focus on Machine Learning models. He will also present several real-world examples of probabilistic models from his work as a data scientist at digiLab.
Bio:
Mikkel is the Data Science Lead at the Exeter-based tech start-up company digiLab. His expertise lies in the emerging field of data-centric engineering including probabilistic modelling, uncertainty quantification, machine learning, surrogate models and Monte Carlo methods.
