By bringing together young like-minded people to exchange ideas and explore critical global challenges, we hope to empower young people to make a tangible impact on the world.

OYWB 2026 themes
The One Young World Bath 2026 Forum will focus on a set of three interconnected global themes. Each theme will be explored through keynote talks, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions.

A special 10th anniversary forum
This will be a special event – we’re inviting all past OYW Bath student delegates and committee members to celebrate the milestone with the University’s senior management team and guests. The day will culminate with an Honorary Degree ceremony for Kate Robertson, Co-Founder and CEO of One Young World, who is thrilled to be part of this year’s Forum.

Responsible Technology

  • Sam Smith, R;pple Suicide Prevention
  • Liam Harte, Rephobia
  • Simon Allen, Level.ai
  • Digital Camp

Responsible Tech is a unifying, forward‑looking, and globally urgent theme. Rather than competing with other social priorities, it enables progress across education, healthcare, and social cohesion.
Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital platforms are reshaping how societies function. Without responsible governance, these technologies risk reinforcing bias, deepening inequality, and accelerating harm. This theme explores how innovation can be guided by ethics, accountability, and inclusion.

Health Inequality

  • Naabil Khan, Skin for All; Mortal & Strong
  • Raouf Alebshehy, Centre for 21st Century Public Health
  • Asel Sartbaeva, EnsiliTech

Health inequality remains one of the most persistent global challenges. Factors such as income, geography, gender, and ethnicity continue to shape access to healthcare and life expectancy. This theme will examine how structural inequalities influence health outcomes, and how research, policy, technology, and community action can work together to close these gaps.

Educational Empowerment

  • Hammed Kayode Alabi, Skill2Rural
  • Immie Carr, The 93% Club
  • Oladoyin Idowu, One Word Africa Foundation
  • Hayden Taylor, Unloc

Education is a foundational driver of opportunity, social mobility, and long‑term wellbeing. Despite its universal framing, the education system remains deeply unequal across regions and communities.

This theme focuses on inclusive education, academic rights, and the role of young people in reshaping systems to better serve diverse learners.
