What does Artificial Intelligence mean for Bath?

This is a Minerva series event that has bought together a group of experts from the University of Bath to discuss the impacts of AI on Bath and how we can prepare for them.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the capacity to transform the world we live in. Generative AI that can create images or text like ChatGPT could have a significant impact on education, work and how we communicate with each other. The Minerva series has bought together a group of experts from the University of Bath to discuss the impacts of AI on Bath and how we can prepare for them.

Andy Barnes, Lecturer in AI, will discuss the economic and social impacts AI will have on Bath and the UK with a focus on employment and social divisions.

Özgür Şimşek, Professor of Artificial Intelligence, will discuss different approaches to AI and how they may shape our future.
