Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the capacity to transform the world we live in. Generative AI that can create images or text like ChatGPT could have a significant impact on education, work and how we communicate with each other. The Minerva series has bought together a group of experts from the University of Bath to discuss the impacts of AI on Bath and how we can prepare for them.
Chris Bonfield, Director of the Centre for Learning and Teaching, will discuss the use of Generative AI in higher education and how we are preparing students for the future of work.
Andy Barnes, Lecturer in AI, will discuss the economic and social impacts AI will have on Bath and the UK with a focus on employment and social divisions.
Özgür Şimşek, Professor of Artificial Intelligence, will discuss different approaches to AI and how they may shape our future.
This panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Julian Chaudhuri, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education at the University of Bath.
