ART-AI student Jack R Saunders has been busy leading the organisation of a Student Conference happening this month, on the 16th and 17th September. This will be an in person event and is taking place on campus at the University of Bath.
Day 1 of the event has sessions being delivered by ART-AI partners DeepMind and the Turing Institute. ART-AI students Cat and Deb are also running a session on policy, entitled; ‘Why and how organisations engage in policy with examples drawn from the EU proposal for a Regulation on AI’.
Day 2 of the event has DesAcc, an ART-AI partner, delivering a session on ‘Healthcare in AI.’ After a mind focusing Tai Chi session, the students will then be hearing from Spin Up Science about entrepreneurship.
A 24 hour Hackathon has also been organised for this event and will be taking place at the end of Day 2 and finishing in the afternoon on Saturday 19th September. The students will get presented a problem by a client before splitting into teams and ‘hacking’ or ‘problem solving’ the problem for the next 24 hours. They will then present the idea back to the client who will choose a winning team.
We wish the students the best of luck for their conference and we are looking forward to attending!
